Identity Verification: Both Riders and Drivers are required to verify their identity. We collect government-issued identification and biometric data (selfies) to perform in-house verification. This data is handled exclusively by Virie systems.
Payment Information: Financial and payment details are processed directly by our secure payment provider, Stripe. Virie does not store full credit card numbers or bank login credentials on our own servers.

B. Information We Collect When You Use Our Services

Private Location Data: We collect precise location data from your mobile device to facilitate rides, calculate pricing, and ensure user safety. Virie handles all location data privately. We do not share your real-time location with third-party mapping or fleet management services.
Usage Data: Information about ride history, timestamps, and system activity.
Device Data: Hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Perform identity verification for all users to maintain a safe community.
Match Riders with Drivers and facilitate transportation.
Process payments through our third-party payment provider.
Enhance safety through incident monitoring and private location tracking.
Comply with legal obligations and prevent malicious use of the platform.

Virie does not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Disclosure is limited to:

Operational Service Providers: We use cloud infrastructure providers (such as Google Cloud Platform) for secure data storage.
Payment Processing: Data necessary to complete transactions is shared with Stripe.
Law Enforcement: Virie intends to comply with valid legal requests from law enforcement agencies. We may disclose user information if we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding potential malice, harm to others, or illegal activities involving the Services.
Between Users: Sharing essential details (e.g., name, pickup location, vehicle info) between a Rider and Driver to facilitate a ride.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Long-Term Retention: To maintain the integrity of our safety systems and verification records, Virie retains collected data, including identity verification and ride history, for long-term storage without a fixed expiration or deletion period.
Security: We implement strict technical measures to protect your data within our private infrastructure and cloud storage environments.

5. Children’s Privacy

The Services are intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information immediately.

6. Website and Tracking

No Cookies: The Virie website is designed to be privacy-first and does not use cookies for tracking, sessions, or analytics.
No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use Google Analytics or other third-party tracking scripts on our website.

7. Your Choices

Location Permissions: You can disable location sharing in your device settings, but this will prevent the app from functioning as intended.
Account Deletion: You may request to delete your account by contacting us at support@virie.app. All deletion requests are subject to our data retention requirements for legal, safety, and operational compliance.
